__________ 2014 __________
The traditional tree lighting ceremony was held on Saturday, December 5, 2014, preceded by the Santa Stroll, which started at the Olde Avon Village where the children and parents gathered for photos with Santa while Carolers entertained the crowd. Santa rode in a horse drawn sleigh to Heritage Square Gazebo for the tree lighting, then made his way to Avon Isle to meet with the hundreds of children awaiting his arrival, while outside children gathered around the two live reindeer that were there for the evening.

Refreshments were provided and model train displays were presented by Railblazers Model Railroad Club.
__________ 2011 __________
The traditional tree lighting ceremony was held on Saturday, December 3, 2011, featuring a new and expanded format.  The Santa Stroll started at the Olde Avon Village where the children and parents gathered for photos with Santa while Carolers entertained the crowd. As Santa rode in a horse drawn sleigh, the parade proceeded to the Heritage Square Gazebo at the corner of S.R. 611 and Detroit Road for more caroling and the lighting of the Christmas Tree.

The intersection was decorated with holiday wreaths purchased by FCF and installed by Avon's Streets Department. The Police Department escorted the parade.

The new venue for the "Visit with Santa" was the City operated and renovated Avon Isle!  That was the first opportunity for many to see this restored historic building. Refreshments were provided and model train displays were presented by Railblazers Model Railroad Club.
__________ 2005 __________
To help kick off the holiday season, Santa arrived in Avon on December 3, 2005, by horse drawn sleigh and made his way down Detroit Road to the Heritage Square Gazebo. Music provided by the Avon High School choir accompanied the tree lighting ceremony. After the ceremony, guests were encouraged to make their way across the street to visit with Santa at the Old Town Hall. The tree lighting was a collaborative effort with FCF, the Avon Lions Club and the Avon Historical Society.
__________ 2004 __________
The annual Avon Christmas Candlelite Walk sponsored by FCF was held on Friday, December 3, 2004, in the French Creek District.

Once again, Santa Claus arrived by a horse drawn sleigh to illuminate the lights of the City Christmas Tree. The Avon High School Choir sang holiday carols before the ceremony. FCF, the Avon Lions and the Avon Historical Society helped Santa present children with small gifts at the Old Town Hall of 1871.
__________ 1999 __________
Since the completion of the Heritage Square Gazebo in 1999, FCF has been organizing the tree lighting and visit with Santa. Avon's Parks Department puts up the lights and the Avon Garden Club decorates the gazebo. It is truly a community effort for the whole community to enjoy.
